compassion first

Telling a person to cheer up is like telling an injured person to walk; it’s never that simple.

People think they’re improving your life but all they’re doing is making you feel worse about your current situation. As lovely as it is when people notice how you’re feeling, it’s not too great when they’re being sarcastic about it. It’s like, you are not helping me at all.

As a person who’s always there for others, I truly feel like people see kindness as weakness and that they can manipulate and twist it as they please, which is downright wrong.

When someone reaches out to you, don’t undermine their feelings, be compassionate and supportive, a little goes a long way for many of those who need it the most in daily life.
