Paint Monday Blue

When things don’t quite go to plan, your stress levels can go through the roof if you’re not careful. At least, that’s how it felt for me today.

Monday felt particularly blue, so I definitely made an effort to be kind to myself. It can be easy to get overwhelmed by our thoughts in the moment, experienced that one too many times in my life.

I actually found myself buying a self-help audiobook out of curiosity about how to manage emotions in times of feeling this way. That was certainly helpful, hearing other people’s experiences and what helps them balance it all out.

Easier said than done, as I’m sure a lot of people will say about this too.

If the past year has taught me anything, it’s that looking after yourself and your mental health is so important. When you nurture your mind, your body and your soul, everything else will fall into place, eventually.

Journey Of Acceptance

Do you ever hear or see something that leaves you in a deep train of thought for the rest of the evening? That’s so me tonight.

I think I’ve managed to navigate my emotions to a happier place, for the time being. How long that will last, who knows, but I appreciate it and try to embrace it.

Emotions can be so complex and hard to navigate, process and understand in a logical way. Truth be told, that has been me many times.

As I’m getting older, the appreciation for my strength during the darkest of times has only increased. It reminds me that life is a journey, and healing of any kind takes a lot of patience.

Wasn’t planning to talk about this, but I felt compelled to.

All I can say is: take your time, it’ll get better.

That’s all for today, stay safe.

Looking Ahead

The next couple of days are going to be a lot, so I’ll probably try and get some interesting subjects and topics written up and discussed in advance.

We’ll see how it goes, I can’t necessarily promise anything, because who knows what the next day or two will bring and so forth, if that makes sense?

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Many Thoughts At Night

Thinking too much can be complicated, especially when all you want is peace of mind.

Despite the wisdom and security of self, that comes with age, there’s still moments of insecurity that linger in the background.

Many thoughts, mainly at night. They come and go, some are less ideal than others.

Going to try and get some revision done before my math exam next week, I’m genuinely nervous, but we’ll see how it goes. All you can do is try your best.

Anyway, I’ll probably go to sleep soon. Happy Saturday.

Strength In You

The beauty of small things that bring you a little bit of joy, and how precious it is.

It makes you appreciate your life, your hobbies, the sun in the sky and each day of your existence.

Not every day is easy, not every day is hard. Balance is key, for the most part. Over time, strength develops.

Happy Friday!

It’s The Small Things In Life

There’s nothing like a good skincare routine, to make you feel calm and relaxed after a long day. If you can’t tell, I’m so exhausted! Haha.

Although, the weather today was magnificent, sunny and bright until like 8pm which has been so good. It definitely helped when it came to motivating me to complete certain household chores that I had been putting off for hours.

Going to bed straight after this, honestly. Also, thank you for all the new blog follows, I truly appreciate it so much. It brings joy to my day.

Challenging Emotions

Some things are easier to feel, process and deal with than others are.

It truly makes you appreciate little things: sunshine, the presence of a clear sky, long walks, listening to your favorite song, out of the blue inspiration.

Could list many more, but let’s start with those for now.

Emotions can be complicated, learning what ultimately helps can be a bit tricky. Self-care is so important too, taking the time to be patient with yourself, as hard as that can be.

Resolutions 2021

Hello, and Happy New Year to each and every one of you.
It’s that time again, to make resolutions and stick with them.

To say 2020 was a nightmare, that’s an understatement.

In this blog post, my first of 2021, I wanted to include some of my own personal resolutions for the next 365 days ahead, but it’ll be a little different.

These resolutions of mine are more about learning to find balance and peace of mind with myself instead of overwhelming my brain with a list of things I probably attempt to accomplish every year.

I think I have about five things I want to focus on.

Here’s my (realistic) list of 5 resolutions for 2021:

#1. Work on being kinder to myself.
#2. Budget more.
#3. Get more sleep.
#4. Improve eating habits.
#5. Start writing for my next poetry book.

I’m sure I could list more, but let’s start with those for now.
Do let me know in a comment what your personal resolutions are for 2021.

Have a wonderful day/evening, all of you!

Stay safe,

Health And Book Update: A Late Entry

A late entry but, I finally published and made my second poetry book public via the incredible self-publishing company Blurb, who actually congratulated me also, which I thought was so wonderful!

I’ve been meaning to update my blog, just never got around to it because I took some time to relax because of my wisdom tooth extraction. Recovery is going well! It’s been approximately 4 days and I feel great, there’s been no complications or symptoms which I am relieved about.

The best part about it is, no more excruciating migraines at night. Although today, I feel slightly light-headed, but it’s been a warm day also.

On the 13th, it was the third anniversary of my blog, DAYDREAM MADNESS, too! Can’t believe I’ve had it for this long now. The same day, it was actually a whole year since I bought my domain name; one of the best decisions I’ve made for my blog so far.

Getting my new book done was also a big relief, because I was behind schedule, and there’s two different book types; softcover and hardcover. Everyone knows the title of it by now, since it’s been spoken about on numerous occasions.

But yes, “A Cryptic Human Entity” was an amazing project to work on, creativity wise.

The encouragement and support from my closest friends has been wonderful, especially since it was the second anniversary of my grandmother’s passing on the 19th and all events have been clashing with that.

And it’s also my 23rd birthday this Sunday! Usually not too optimistic about it, but I’ll be at a music festival surrounded by incredible music and good vibes, so I can’t complain.

Growing older is perhaps a blessing and a curse; we’re basically ticking clocks, losing time as we speak. It’s an inevitable fate for us all, but life and loss affects us just as much. The point is, we should cherish each moment like we’re about to lose it all. And we shouldn’t take loved ones for granted either.

You can find out more about my new poetry book, “A CRYPTIC HUMAN ENTITY” here: Blurb

Long Time, No Write!

2018 has been quite a chaotic year, I must say. And it’s only March as of yet! I’m supposed to be releasing my second book of poetry in less than two months but I am so behind schedule with the completion of it, that it might all have to be postponed until further notice.

Although, being the person I am, I will try my hardest to stick with my deadline and publication date etc. Life can be so chaotic at times, honestly, and it’s not a nice feeling at all. Everyone deals with it for the most part, yet I am not the best at coping under pressure.

It’s been a while since my last blog post on here, but with everything that’s been going on, it is incredibly hard to think straight, let alone know what to do next. But in time, it’ll pass at some point.

Exactly two months from now, it’ll be the second anniversary of my grandmother’s passing too.

Still hard to deal with, me losing her was painful beyond words. Bravest person until the end though, an angel who gained her well-deserved wings in the sky above.

You never truly appreciate the time you have with people until you see them fade away in front of your eyes. What a brutal reality. I guess all you can do is try and make the most of every second you breathe.

Don’t waste your life away, it’s the only one you have; as yourself, anyway. Who knows what the afterlife has planned, or where your soul will end up next. Only time will tell.
