Life Changes & Inner Peace: Resolutions For 2022

Hello again, fellow writers and blog readers.

Christmas is now over, and everyone is slowly preparing for their NYE festivities, whatever that may look like. It’s also that time of year where we all reflect on the current year before it ends, and what we hope to discover in the next.

Personally, I love making these types of lists. But, I do want these resolutions to matter in the long run. Life changes don’t just have to happen every January onwards.

I’ll probably have my fair share of moments where I don’t sleep well, or meditate enough, things like that. But to be honest, I’m human and nothing is ever perfect.

Learning to be mindful and living in the present moment is important, to balance out the discipline and expectations we all have/expect of ourselves.

Without further delay, here are my top 5 (or 10, haha) resolutions/life changes that I want to incorporate into my daily routine and improve my current lifestyle.

1. To sleep better
2. Eat more mindfully
3. Read more books
4. Save more, spend less
5. Prioritize my mental health

Another five, because why not?

6. Declutter the house/wardrobe
7. Write more consistently
8. Start work on poetry book #3
9. Get more active
10. Meditate/journal

These are in no particular order, might I add.

I had many more I could mention, but these are the most relevant to my life at this moment. It doesn’t matter if I don’t successfully achieve all these things, as long as I am aware of my goals and at least trying to be the best version of myself. A journey like this is not always straightforward, but it is possible when the timing is right.

Would love to hear about what your own resolutions are for 2022. Or if you’ve decided not to participate in it this year, it’s fine either way.

This might be my last post of 2021, although I probably will post something on NYE as a farewell to what has been a strange year, to say the least.

Love,

Mila. Xo

Christmas Eve Inspiration

What a wonderful feeling it is to be here again, but my writing hiatus needed to come to an end at some point. Life can be incredibly unpredictable and sometimes you need a break from things, even if you truly adore what you do.

I’m kind of late to the party, as far as making my resolutions for 2022, but I am hoping to gather my thoughts in the next few days and will be updating the blog a number of times before we ring in this new year ahead of us.

This time of year is always bittersweet, not everyone has good memories attached to the festive season and it’s important to be mindful of that as well as just being grateful for the little things (health, family, friends and more)

Stay tuned for my next blog posts and have a great day!

Habits & Resolutions: A Step Back

In the last week or two, I’ve found myself less motivated. It didn’t all happen at once, but it was a gradual process. For the most part, it’s been helpful to try and do a few productive tasks each day, at the very least.

However, it has become increasingly more difficult in recent days, despite my best efforts. I suppose, I was expecting it to occur at some point, I just didn’t want to lose all the progress made since the start of 2021.

The fact that it’s March is surreal. Perhaps lockdown has made time feel differently for many people, or has it just flown by? Who knows, hopefully things will become better as time does go on and so forth.

In a couple of months, it’ll be five years since my grandmother passed away and I just don’t know how to feel about it anymore. How five years can go by just like that is scary. Losing her was one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced, amongst other things.

Things have definitely changed a lot since then, some things at least, not everything. Life is one of those complicated journeys, but that’s all part of the human experience and how that shapes us as people.

Sometimes, I often have to take a step back, have a moment of reflective thought, give myself a chance to live in the moment, not putting so much emphasis on stressing about the future. It is easier said than done.

Giving yourself that break once in a while is essential, at least in my own experience. Writing also helps me a lot, keeping that open dialogue with yourself and others, depending on how comfortable you are, of course.

I believe I’ll leave it at that for now, trying to figure out possible subjects and topics to discuss in the next coming days. Also, forever wishing I could write stories. Would love to complete a novel in my later years, we’ll see.

The Writing Streak Continues

An early addition, for me anyway.

Hello readers, bloggers and human beings.

Found it a little difficult knowing what to write, but I want to keep this streak of writing alive for the time being. After all, this is a personal blog.

I’ve been meaning to start work on my next book of poetry, although it’s still a work in progress. A lot is going on, but I’m feeling positive so far.

Focusing on my health is a priority at the moment, as well as other things alongside that. I am determined to stick to my resolutions this year, in a healthy and gradual way. I try not to call it ‘dieting’ as it can trigger unhealthy eating habits.

Being the impatient young woman I am, it can feel like this whole process is taking a long time, yet I do understand that it’s not an overnight change.

Anyway, I hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend.

Stay safe, take care, be kind.

Weekend Motivation

Having the willpower to stay on track with exercise and eating well seems a lot more difficult during the weekends. I do enjoy working out, aerobic dance is fun, wireless earbuds have been one of the best purchases that I made in 2020.

I did plan to get another hour of exercise in before the end of today, but I already did 30 minutes and that was a good start. Incorporating that into my routine each day is something that I’m still working on, but the gradual weight loss has been very encouraging to witness.

During this lockdown, I’ve really been interested in fitness and overall health in general, which has been an interesting journey by all means.

The end goal has always been to become healthier, in a gradual, healthy way and I honestly do believe it’ll be worth it in the end. Patience is difficult, I am the most impatient person on this planet.

Positive affirmations help too, keeping track of your progress and just knowing that these things take time, there is no transformation overnight.

Remembering to be kind to yourself is important, I know I’ve had my fair share of insecurities. It’s always so wonderful seeing others be body positive, and it reminds me that I’ll get there too, eventually.

Getting older, you feel more comfortable in your skin, and that’s very accurate to some extent. It can be such a complex subject, especially in today’s society.

Regardless, I’m proud of my progress so far, and it’s nice to feel good about yourself. When I reflect back to how teenage me felt, I just wish I could tell her that things will be okay.

Anyway, excuse the long essay on here. Stay safe & well.

Resolutions 2021

Hello, and Happy New Year to each and every one of you.
It’s that time again, to make resolutions and stick with them.

To say 2020 was a nightmare, that’s an understatement.

In this blog post, my first of 2021, I wanted to include some of my own personal resolutions for the next 365 days ahead, but it’ll be a little different.

These resolutions of mine are more about learning to find balance and peace of mind with myself instead of overwhelming my brain with a list of things I probably attempt to accomplish every year.

I think I have about five things I want to focus on.

Here’s my (realistic) list of 5 resolutions for 2021:

#1. Work on being kinder to myself.
#2. Budget more.
#3. Get more sleep.
#4. Improve eating habits.
#5. Start writing for my next poetry book.

I’m sure I could list more, but let’s start with those for now.
Do let me know in a comment what your personal resolutions are for 2021.

Have a wonderful day/evening, all of you!

Stay safe,

Mila. Xo

Cluttered Set Of Emotions

If hoarding emotions and thoughts was a skill, I’d be a professional at this point in time. Hoping it will become easier as months goes by, and all of that.

To be honest, my writing has definitely impacted somewhat. You analyze yourself and others too much, as well as your surroundings and patterns.

Hard to believe we’re almost two weeks into the New Year, I’ve had a semi-productive timeline as of recent. It’ll pick up eventually, and so will the motivation and inspiration to do bigger and better things with my mind.

Reflection is good, to some extent. Just don’t overdo it, you’ll thank me later.

There is a lot I have to learn, and accept about myself. Bad habits, that one might need to take a second look at. A lot of books I want to read, places I want to visit and appreciate. Nostalgia seems to have hit me , ever so discreetly.

It’s also nearly four years without my grandmother, I am always in disbelief about this. Feels like yesterday when I held her hand, that last smile has replayed in my mind, more times than I can count. Her strength through it all has definitely played a major part. All I want to do is make my guardian angel proud.

New Year 2019 – Daily Blog Posts?

Hi everyone, I hope you’ve had an amazing first day of 2019. Just wanted to write a quick post, and I’ll start posting daily on the blog from now on. 2018 was tough, and writing wasn’t fun to do at all previously, so I really wanted to make an effort this time and stick to my word of consistent posts, and have a balanced routine of thoughts, poems, opinions, so forth.

Thank you to the ones who check my blog often, you’re incredible,

to say the least.

I’m excited to see what the year holds for me, personally. Of course, I did a resolutions post about a week and a half ago, which I’ll be trying to focus on.

How was your first day of 2019?

And like I said, I’ll be on here every day from now on. May you all have a wonderful day or night, depending on where you are and such.

Take care, everyone!

Yours Truly,

Breaking The Ice: Heavy Thoughts & Resolutions 2019

Hello, world. I am finally back on the blog, just in time
for my annual resolutions post for the coming New Year.

You have NO idea, just how much I have missed updating-and expressing my thoughts on this platform of mine. For months on end,
I have seen others create incredible content, and envied the fact that their hearts were so inspired and motivated to do so. Keep it up, you inspire me!

Good To Be Writing Again

It’s been a rollercoaster of emotion, bittersweet encounters, and endless obstacles. But through it all, I have kept my composure and sanity in tact.

The same really can’t be said for others, however. I have experienced more betrayal and disloyalty this year, than any other. And to this day, I still can’t wrap my head around it entirely. Truth be told, I gave them enough chances.

A Struggle To Express

For weeks, I have been trying to put together this post as a whole, it was a lot harder than I anticipated. If it wasn’t for the love and support of my family and friends, I would have felt differently about 99% of 2018’s life experiences and unfortunate events. God truly blessed me in that way.

It Was A Tough Year

Ever since the year began, cracks surfaced. Things escalated to the point of no return. The damage has been done, but the strength within, it continues to thrive.

Keep Your Hope Alive

I also found myself closer to religion and faith, which I truly believe has saved me, in more ways than one. When you open your eyes to the truth, you see things from a new perspective. It helps you grow as a person, stay connected to your core beliefs and values.

Reflection & Acceptance

We are not without flaws as human beings, but having the maturity to reflect and learn from our life lessons is so important. You can only dwell on your denial for a certain amount of time, before it all collapses.

You’re Only Human

Sure, a lot of us will keep making tiny mistakes every once in a while, and we’ll most likely never learn entirely, but that’s okay too. Just because you fall once, it doesn’t mean you’re not going to get back up again.

Stay True To You

As long as you’re conscious of what is happening around you, and you’re acknowledging the root causes and accepting it for what it is, that’s a good start. We aren’t perfect, which is what makes us human. Some of us are more reserved, some of us, more outspoken. Individually complex.

For 2019’s resolutions, I wanted to keep it simple and straightforward.

Here’s my tiny list:

  • submit a lot of poetry submissions
  • write for my third book of poems
  • become a healthier person (body, mind etc)
  • read the whole Bible in its entirety
  • upgrade the blog again

What are your resolutions for the New Year?
