Escapism In Expression

Been distracting myself all day with chores and exercise, it’s the only thing calming my nerves about tomorrow’s meeting/appointment etc. Not only that, I have an exam on Friday, so I’m praying that my mind doesn’t go blank on the day.

In other news, I do look forward to being out and about in the city, long walks can be very therapeutic. I must admit, being out more is strange, considering how most people have been indoors a lot of the time.

A strange time in life, definitely. What also is hard to believe is that it’s July soon. My perception of time has changed a lot in recent months.

Kind of tired but I want to bleach my roots. Anyway, there’s a chance I might fall asleep shortly. Typical Monday, it feels like. Productivity has been great though.

Hope you all have a great rest of your day!

Ahead Of Time

One last minute entry on the blog before I completely forget to update it.

Sat here on my bed, ticking things off my list. I don’t know why, but my mind goes into overdrive when I know there’s certain places to go, people to see.

This next week is going to be a lot, although I’m sure things will get easier in time.

Yet another weekend too, how fun. Let’s hope this one doesn’t end as soon as it starts.

Happy Friday!

Structured Planning

Leaving blog updates to the last minute has become a common theme on here, and not intentionally. Over the next couple of days, I’ll be trying to schedule some posts in advance. I’ve got some stuff I need to plan, family members to see soon and I can’t wait for that.

There’s a lot to be grateful for, honestly. Sunshine has finally calmed down, which is a relief. Got a lot to do tomorrow, there’s a whole list of things.

I’m both tired and full of energy, it’s strange. Anyway, I should leave it at that before the clock strikes midnight. Have a great evening!

Kind To Self: Things I’ve Grown To Love

Over the years, a lot has changed and evolved. But at the same time, it is not entirely different.

Maturity and wisdom has definitely helped shape my current mindset, as well as providing me with the necessary tools to navigate my path, help me understand and come to terms with things that I didn’t have the words for before, or the feelings and emotions that have found their way through this journey of life.

Looking back, being kind to myself was the last thing on the agenda, if at all important. Insecurities were heavily on my mind, they still are at times. Learning how to combat those hasn’t been easy.

Even now, despite being more at peace with myself, there are days where I think too much, or I don’t feel any particular way or it’s harder to articulate, and that’s okay.

So, in the years since I’ve focused on my wellbeing a lot more, and had time to reflect, what have I grown to love or embrace about life or myself?

This is an interesting question indeed.

In fact, there’s quite a substantial list. For example, I love having my hair up, which is a small detail to some, but having a rounder face can make it complicated.

Also, another thing I’ve grown to love is short hair, or perhaps shoulder-length hair in particular. Growing up, I truly think I used my hair to hide my face and how round I thought it was. Once, I had a very evident bleach fail, where a lot of it broke off, so I cut off a lot of hair at the sides and dyed it electric blue. At the time, I didn’t appreciate it as much as I should have.

Would I dye my hair blue again? Absolutely.

Another thing I love now, is wearing no make-up. If my face has problems, I try and help/ease them with skincare, following a routine has done wonders, although I am more flexible with that these days.

Getting older has definitely helped me embrace my flaws, and to be grateful for my health and so much more. This will always be a journey, and I just want to be the best version of myself.

This post is longer than I usually write, but in my opinion, that means I’m feeling inspired and motivated, so I’ll take it.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Mindful Days

Wasn’t planning to write a blog post so late, but here we are, once again.

There was a lot of things I didn’t necessarily get done to the best of my ability, however, I did have a balanced day. Doesn’t always happen, yet I do try and appreciate all the good moments in life.

Learning how to stay mindful and being kind to myself, it has been such a long journey and I’m still learning new things every day, which is interesting at times.

Going to start scheduling posts in advance from either tomorrow or the start of next week. It might inspire me to work on my new book more too, we’ll see.

Simple Accomplishments

Another day, another blog post on DAYDREAM MADNESS.

I was going to write this earlier in the day, but lost track of time and better late than never, in my opinion.

Got my whole list ticked off before 8pm, so that was a nice feeling.

Started some new supplements today, which really helped my energy levels. I’ve become quite interested in all things health, nutrition and more.

To be honest, I’ve never felt better. I truly wish I had found this motivation sooner than I did, but I lost interest many times in the past.

As I got older, I definitely appreciated myself a lot more, took the time to better my life for me and no one else. Every person’s journey is different, and mine has always been imbalanced as of recent years.

More than ever, I’m determined to stay on track and find balance.

Easier said than done, but I think it’s going pretty well so far.

Going to sleep rather soon, I need all the rest I can get for tomorrow’s long day ahead. Wishing you all well, take care of yourselves and stay safe.

Rainy Days In February

I was hoping to write this earlier in the day, but had quite a lot to do and that was tiring. As I write this, I can hear the sound of rain on my bedroom window tonight and it definitely has a calming effect on me.

Hopefully I fall asleep shortly, after posting this and completing a few things first. My annual WordPress subscription got renewed today, which means I don’t have to worry about that for another year now. I just have to renew the domain name in April.

As much as I don’t like the price of the subscription, the premium themes are so worth it. The simplicity of my current theme is wonderful, to say the least.

Minor changes might be made soon, but nothing too outrageous.

Tomorrow is going to be a little busy, but it should be fine, as long as I stay on target with what I need to get done. I often try and make lists the night before, it’s very motivating when you need some positive encouragement.

Anyway, before I ramble too much, I’ll leave it at that until the end of tomorrow.

Stay safe, take care of you and others and be kind.
