Retail therapy can be fun, although your wallet might say otherwise.
I’ve definitely had my fair share of impulse buys, last-minute emergency purchases and those “why did I buy that?” moments in my life.
The older I get, the more conscious I become of my spending habits.
And it’s not because I’m frugal, or I always choose the cheaper option.
Sometimes, retail therapy can be slightly addicting, like most things in our daily lives if not in moderation.
To be honest, I used to be quite reckless with money, but over the years, I’ve found some balance with it all. Just making sure all the bills are up-to-date is enough to leave me content.
I often watch these couponing shows, and it’s so interesting how much you could save on the most random items in your household. And also, how much you could save on the things you like or prefer the most.
Budgeting is quite a fun activity for me, as I love to write lists and keep it all organized in my notebook. Ticking off bills is a relief, not everyone has that chance. Life a few years ago was quite different to how it is now, and I truly am grateful for all that I have, and I accept what I can not own, to some extent.
Materialistic items might seem great to own, but in the end, the things that truly matter, you’ll cherish more, sentimental pieces that reflect who you are and what you love.
There’s a lot of people who aren’t fortunate to have those things, a tough reality for many. If I’m able to help someone in need, I try to do so.
Gratitude is something that keeps me humble, and at peace.
Especially in these unpredictable times we’re living in now.
It makes you appreciate what you have, and the ones you love.
This was something I wanted to talk about today, I’m not entirely sure why, but it’s often a subject I think about, when I see adverts online and outside, when emails spam my inbox, asking me to buy new things and get nice deals in the process.
Since I’m currently on this health journey of mine this year, I made a promise not to buy new clothes, because there’s simply no need.
Well, not at the moment anyway.
I’m hoping to save more and spend less as the year progresses, and I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to do that, with my mind focused on more important matters.
This is become quite a lengthy post, so I think I’ll leave it at that for now.

Motivation On The Horizon
Sundays honestly is my favorite day of the week. I don’t know if that makes me feel good about life, or just old? Also, the aftermath of eating junk food over two days was a lot. I actually don’t miss it at all, which is quite a new thing for me.
But, that’s just my thoughts regarding that. It does confirm to me that I feel much better eating meals that I cook from scratch, and it also saves me a lot of money in the long run, so that’s another positive way of encouraging myself to stay on track with my change of lifestyle and overall health journey.
I prefer to not call it a diet, because that can bring out some lingering insecurities of mine. All I can say is, I’m working on it. Moderation is key, so is a balanced lifestyle and understanding the importance of nutrition.
It’ll take time, but the end result will make all of this worth my while.
This past month or so has been a real eye-opener.
It’s February 1st tomorrow, which is really hard to believe, but time doesn’t stand still for anyone. Spent a lot of time reflecting and moving ahead and I look forward to this next month.

The Writing Streak Continues
An early addition, for me anyway.
Hello readers, bloggers and human beings.
Found it a little difficult knowing what to write, but I want to keep this streak of writing alive for the time being. After all, this is a personal blog.
I’ve been meaning to start work on my next book of poetry, although it’s still a work in progress. A lot is going on, but I’m feeling positive so far.
Focusing on my health is a priority at the moment, as well as other things alongside that. I am determined to stick to my resolutions this year, in a healthy and gradual way. I try not to call it ‘dieting’ as it can trigger unhealthy eating habits.
Being the impatient young woman I am, it can feel like this whole process is taking a long time, yet I do understand that it’s not an overnight change.
Anyway, I hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend.

Another Day, Another Late Blog Post
So, another day, another blog post that is uploaded late.
I would go to bed, but it’s the weekend and I have a lot of energy.
Might binge watch something on Netflix and write a bit of poetic material.
Feeling quite inspired, although I feel a bit strange after eating some junk food yesterday evening. Can’t wait to get back to my health based journey, which is right now. I’ve tried to reassure myself that it’s okay to have a cheat day once in a while.

Weekend Motivation
Having the willpower to stay on track with exercise and eating well seems a lot more difficult during the weekends. I do enjoy working out, aerobic dance is fun, wireless earbuds have been one of the best purchases that I made in 2020.
I did plan to get another hour of exercise in before the end of today, but I already did 30 minutes and that was a good start. Incorporating that into my routine each day is something that I’m still working on, but the gradual weight loss has been very encouraging to witness.
During this lockdown, I’ve really been interested in fitness and overall health in general, which has been an interesting journey by all means.
The end goal has always been to become healthier, in a gradual, healthy way and I honestly do believe it’ll be worth it in the end. Patience is difficult, I am the most impatient person on this planet.
Positive affirmations help too, keeping track of your progress and just knowing that these things take time, there is no transformation overnight.
Remembering to be kind to yourself is important, I know I’ve had my fair share of insecurities. It’s always so wonderful seeing others be body positive, and it reminds me that I’ll get there too, eventually.
Getting older, you feel more comfortable in your skin, and that’s very accurate to some extent. It can be such a complex subject, especially in today’s society.
Regardless, I’m proud of my progress so far, and it’s nice to feel good about yourself. When I reflect back to how teenage me felt, I just wish I could tell her that things will be okay.

Satisfaction Of A Complete List
There’s nothing more satisfying than a complete list. All the things you wanted to do are done, what a feeling. Whether it’s chores, completing a grocery shop, paying certain bills or just being organized in general.
It’s small things like this, that make me the happiest, especially in the times we are living in now. It reminds me to not take anything for granted, and to know that things will be okay.
Starting this post a bit earlier than usual, which I’m happy about too. Leaving some things to the very last minute can be a recipe for disaster.
All in all, a surprisingly good, balanced day. I’m also happy about the fact that it’s Friday. Weekends tend to feel short, so I’ll be cherishing every minute of mine.
Before we know it, Sunday arrives and off we go to another week. Usually around the end of this month, I would have given up on my resolutions, but I haven’t, for once. That’s also something I’m proud of.
There might be times where I feel less motivated and inspired, but I always try to do my best regardless. What I’ve also noticed is my energy levels have been relatively good, better than before. Supplements have been such a massive part of that change, I am beyond sure of that.
As we near the end of January, I hope that February will be just as wonderful and motivating, perhaps even better. We can hope, right?

Healthy Mindset & Positive Thoughts
January is almost coming to an end, it feels strange acknowledging that fact. Well, that and the fact that I have a lot of math study to do.
After writing this quick post, I’ll try and get some work done and hopefully go to sleep tonight. I wouldn’t recommend staying awake all night, the aftermath can be so awful, haha.
Regardless, the day hasn’t been too bad. I just find it hard to believe that the weekend is just around the corner, yet again. Lockdown makes every day seem either very abrupt or it drags on, every time you look at the clock.
Having a routine does help a lot, it keeps my mind from being cluttered with too many thoughts. I do want to start journaling and keeping track of my feelings and emotions. An offline diary of some kind, honestly.
I have messy handwriting, though. Apparently, that means you’re intelligent or something. But in all fairness, I’m just an intellectual who maybe thinks too much at times, and that ultimately gives me a lot to speak about.
This blog helps me with keeping it all balanced. Which I’m glad for.

Resolutions: 2020 Vision, Goals & Mindfulness
As previously mentioned, I wanted to make a quick note of my vision for the year ahead, what I hope to achieve and accomplish, amongst other things.
This isn’t your average list. In fact, I don’t feel it is of use to even make one.
Sure, a healthier lifestyle would be very beneficial, and a more balanced approach to mindfulness is what I hope to grasp, eventually.
Taking care of yourself, as well as the ones around you, it’s vital, to be the best version you can be, of you.

Minutes To Spare
Writing for a week straight has really inspired me. I’ve never felt so good about it.
I don’t know where I’d be without my blog. This is my sanctuary, a place of freedom and space.
Living a complex life, it makes you understand the gift of simple things.
Whether it’s writing a poem, or just practicing mindfulness and focusing on your health.
It is so important to acknowledge your struggles, so that you can make room for better things to come.
We have our bad days and our good days. There will be tears, and laughter until our stomach is in knots.
Grateful for family, true friends and the guardian angels I have, watching over me and the ones I love and cherish the most.

New Year 2019 – Daily Blog Posts?
Hi everyone, I hope you’ve had an amazing first day of 2019. Just wanted to write a quick post, and I’ll start posting daily on the blog from now on. 2018 was tough, and writing wasn’t fun to do at all previously, so I really wanted to make an effort this time and stick to my word of consistent posts, and have a balanced routine of thoughts, poems, opinions, so forth.
Thank you to the ones who check my blog often, you’re incredible,
to say the least.
I’m excited to see what the year holds for me, personally. Of course, I did a resolutions post about a week and a half ago, which I’ll be trying to focus on.
