Counting Blessings

Life is a precious thing, and so are the ones who make it even more valuable than it already is.

To say I’m grateful is an understatement. It’s a breath of fresh air, to know the people that I do.

Sure, there’s been many obstacles in life that I’ve faced, but I couldn’t have overcome all of those without them.

And so, all I can say is: Thank you.

Well, a lot more than simply that, but it is a start. Infinite gratitude beyond measure.

First Day Of 26

One of the best things about celebrating birthdays as an adult is not presents, although any you receive are always appreciated – at least by most.

What I truly love the most is, the people you get to spend time with, the joy in the room. The last year or so has impacted a lot of people’s lives, mentally, emotionally and physically. And my heart goes out to all of those who have lost loved ones and continue to navigate life in these strange and difficult times.

So grateful for the birthday wishes yesterday, and any belated ones I might receive in the days to come.

Bank Holiday weekend is here and I hope you all have a wonderful Friday.

God bless you all and stay safe.

Clean Slate For A New Day

Another one of those nights where I seem to stay up writing in the last minute because not doing so would feel absurd.

Today’s blog entry might be a little short and more spontaneous, but I’m working on it as we speak.

Almost midnight, yet I’m finding it difficult to hibernate for the night. I’ll sleep soon, I promise.

The day has been relatively balanced, with hints of anxiety here and there, in which my inner response was: I had to simply concentrate on other things.

A clean slate for a new day, I tell myself.

My birthday is in two days, almost one if I think about it. It’s a strange feeling, getting older. You learn a lot, or at least in my own experiences.

The more my blog grows and blossoms, I can’t help but feel immense gratitude for the ones who have supported me along the way. It shows me that I’m doing something right, despite how small the achievement might look like currently.

So thank you, for being such a light in my life. And as always, have a beautiful day, or night, depending on where you are in the world.

Perfect Way To Start A Weekend

Hello and Happy Friday!

After yesterday’s complicated and melancholy atmosphere, I feel like today has balanced it all out, if I’m honest. To add to this wonderful Friday, I also regained access to a writing space that I haven’t been able to log into for the longest time, so that truly made my afternoon earlier.

It’s the weekend once more, and I feel incredibly inspired to create, write, just anything to get my creative mind in shape, if that makes sense at all.

For me, I struggle when there’s creative blocks and I can’t put my feelings or emotions into words/context. Trying to go with the flow on the blog as of recent weeks and months. I know ideas can take time to develop, to make themselves visible or heard.

Being impatient can be a little frustrating, or a lot, it all depends on the events of the day. For now, it’s not all bad. Was hoping to get this written sooner, but life isn’t always on time, no matter how much we try and schedule things into our mind like a calendar.

There’s a chance I might post more than one blog entry tonight, so there’s a heads-up. Again, I hope you have a great weekend, stay safe, be kind and remember that you’re great.

Happy Easter

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy and blessed Easter Sunday.

Although it’s not possible to be as close to our loved ones as we would like, I do believe as time progresses and breakthroughs are made, that things will get better and my hope for this has not changed, despite the current unpredictability of life as we know it.

Have a wonderful day/evening!

Impulsive Moments & Rational Conclusions

Sometimes, taking a moment to think before we do or say something is the difference between wrong and right choices in life. At times, I can find myself being impulsive, in terms of buying certain things or making a change somehow (hair bleach sessions included)

Almost bleached my hair earlier, funnily enough. Until I styled my hair in a different way, which made me appreciate my brunette, messy curls. Tomorrow is Easter Sunday, so I’m looking forward to that.

Faith is such a big part of my daily life, more so with each day that passes by. Makes me so grateful for the people in my life and the positive changes that have occurred in recent years. And I also believe it keeps me close to my late grandmother. In May, it’ll be the fifth anniversary of her passing and that’s so surreal.

I just hope I make her proud, on this complicated journey of life and experiences.

Complexity Of Being Human

I wanted to dedicate this post to my loved ones, because today’s events have really highlighted the importance of gratitude, appreciating the people we know, the memories we have, the time we spend on this Earth.

So incredibly grateful for my faith too, it really keeps me humble, and it brings comfort to my heart in times of anxiety and stress. Bear in mind, this is my own personal experience with religion, and of course, every person’s life experiences are different, we have our individual paths, journeys, ways of coping and all else.

Felt compelled to get my emotions out tonight, it’s been a long day and heavily emotive. I have a lot to say, not everything leaves the draft section of my mind or the notes on my phone, but sharing my thoughts in moments like these, it makes me feel better.

Over the years, I definitely have tried to become a better version of myself, to learn and grow from the past. Each day is different, there’s good days and bad days, as well as all of those in-between.

Learning how to manage and balance all of this is tricky sometimes, that’s the complexity of being human. So, to conclude this post, feel free to share your own feelings and thoughts, let me know what’s going on in your life and what you’re grateful for. God bless you all.

Blessings In Disguise

Figured I would sit down and get this written up before I go to bed in a while. The day’s not been too bad, a little predictable at times, but that is to be expected.

Anyway, I feel hopeful about the week so far. Routine is pretty much the same each day, although I enjoy the structure of it. Brings some kind of joy to the current circumstances of life.

I do feel incredibly blessed for the ones I know, the people I have gotten to know better over the years, and the ones I have yet to encounter on this journey.

So fortunate for my faith, my continuous sense of hope despite everything that I’ve experienced. And I’m grateful for my guardian angels above, the maternal grandmother I knew and loved very much. And also, the paternal grandmother that I never got to meet.

Some people I prefer not to mention, for other reasons, but I’ll leave it at that. In recent years, I’ve tried my best to forgive and bear no grudges. All it does is weigh your soul down, and it’s not worth the inner sorrow.

If I could tell my younger self one thing, it would be this: trust in God.

Stay safe and well, be kind, and God bless you all.
